Here is the link to the lesson plan on homophones. This lesson was played in the form of finding a match, with the opportunity to see 1 card and pick the match from a pile of cards. Then "H" completed a worksheet where he made his own homophone pair when given 1 word.
One struggle that I didn't predict was "H" getting hung up on a specific word that he only knows by that name and not another name. For example with the homophone "bored" I was looking for "H" to make the connection BOARD, but he would call the picture wood and didn't recognize the word also being called board. This was a positive struggle and lead to a great conversation.
Example: Card 1: Picture of a eyes (see) and "H" needed to pick out from a pile of cards the ocean/sea picture.

Lesson Plan 1: Vowels
Here is the link to the lesson plan on vowels. This lesson was played in the form of a matching game and matching worksheet. "H" really enjoyed the game.
One struggle that I didn't predict was "H" getting hung up on the fact that the cards pictures didn't match and that we were only worried about the word and vowel sounds that the word makes.
Example: Card 1: Picture of a CAR, the word CAR and we would ask what sound it makes /a/
Card 2: Picture of a APPLE, the word APPLE and we would ask what sound it makes /a/
"H" would say that they don't match because he was hung up on the pictures. After 2 examples he understood that the pictures didn't matter and we were focusing on the vowels.
